Provincial & Faculty Reports

CAPER's provincial and faculty reports present postgraduate medical education data broken out by province and by individual faculty of medicine. They let planners and educators see how training is distributed geographically and across institutions.

Because the same trainee data feeds the national census and these regional views, the breakdowns stay consistent with CAPER's broader figures.

Data by province

Provincial reports show how postgraduate training is distributed across the country, helping provincial planners understand the size and composition of the trainee population in their jurisdiction relative to the national picture.

Data by faculty of medicine

Faculty reports profile training at each of the 17 to 18 faculties of medicine that submit data to CAPER. Institutions can review their own trainee numbers and patterns and compare them against peers and national totals.

  • Geographic distribution of trainees across provinces
  • Trainee counts and patterns at each participating faculty
  • A consistent basis for institution-to-institution comparison
